Bubble Tea craze has been huge in Taiwan, and other parts of Southeast Asia for the last 15 years. Originated in Taiwan in the early 1980's at a small tea stand. Bubble tea drink is a delightful refreshment consisting of tea, optional fruit flavors, and dark tapioca balls. In fact, Bubble tea has taken Taiwan by storm over the past decade. Back then children would look forward to buying a cup of refreshing tea after a long, hard day of work and play. Tea stands were set up in front of the schools and would compete for business with the best selling tea. Someone came up with the idea of adding tapioca pearls as a bit of novelty, and the idea spread. This formed bubbles in the drink, which came to be known as "Bubble Tea."
